Work In Progress
In our High Performance XFC range we have gone from the original XFC rocker 2005-6 to the XFC - TSR. The TSR being a slightly flatter rocker through the mid section on the bottom compared to XFC 05-6. Adam Robinson just won the Scottish O’Neill Highland Open 6 Star prime event on the XFC - TSR. The new rocker is a very slight change and remains our flag ship high performance board.
Some guys on tour are surfing the SXE model which basically has more rocker through the mid section compared to XFC. We have done the same slight adjustment in recent times to the SXE range as in the XFC (flatter through the mid section) SXE2 maintains the character of the SXE concept which is basically a belly rocker style board that will fit in tight pockets and surf vertically. It’s getting down to knowing your rocker and your surfing, matching it together to suit the waves in your area for the best all round high performance board – XFC - TSR and SXE2 available now |

Model: DSC (Deep Shallow Concave) |
The DSC (Deep-to-Shallow Concave) is based on a winning formula that creates immense speed and hold through turns. After 10 years of design refinement Simon has produced the ultimate “good wave” board. |

Work In Progress
Good wave board, basically your step up board for surf in the 5 - 8 feet range. In this model we are increasing the double concave depth slightly through the back half of the bottom along with a little more width in the plan shape at the fin area. Fins are moved forward as well from 3 3/8 and 11 to 3 ½ and 11 ¼ this is producing a faster freer feel to accommodate the modern approach to surfing a bigger wave, floater air drops and aerial moves etc.
For your double step up board we are putting our faith in a vee from half way through to the tail. The bottom formula is slight single concave up front going to double concave through to the vee apex which is around about the forward fin area, the vee then fading out to flat at the rounded pin tail. The longer the board or larger the surf the less concave and more vee applied through the DSC range – in production May 4 |

Model: Equaliser |
The New ‘07 Equaliizer is a good blend of performance & versatility. A board that you can always rely on no matter what gets thrown at you. A combination of a single-to-double concave with slight vee off the tail allows for smoother turns & easier rail-to-rail transitions. Predictable & user-friendly. |

Model: The Mollusc |
A hybrid with all the performance aspects of a shortboard. A fuller nose combined with a Deep-to-Shallow Concave (DSC) produces a board that catches waves easily but still surfs with speed & responsiveness. The ‘07 Mollusc comes in both a swallow & round tail. |

Work In Progress
There appears to be a demand for wider longer Mollusc style boards. Initially my idea was to keep the Mollusc short and not too wide maximum 6’ 4 and 20 ¼ wide but some surfers need more foam. In keeping with this trend we have implemented a vee through the back half of the bottom. Wider boards just need rail to rail assistance, so we now have the single concave up front transitioning to a double into the first part of the vee and fading out at the apex (highest point of the vee). Look for this style in Mollusc boards like 6’5 20 3/8 2 ¾, 6’6 20 ½ 2 ¾ and 6’ 8 20 ¾ 2 ¾ or anything over 20 ¼ wide will have the vee.
Adding a vee generally will slow a board down but with the above dimensions the smoother rail to rail transition will greatly assist the board in and around wave sections. Getting to the speed part of the wave more efficiently enables you to tap into that speed source sooner generating maximum speed across the wave face. So in this case adding a slowing agent like a vee can potentially increase overall speed – in production May 25 |

BX2 - Coming Soon
This is a pro development in collaboration with Jay Bottle Tompson and is yet another variation in rocker this time from the XFC TSR. We are keeping the overall amount of rocker throughout as in the TSR but the section from halfway to the fin area on the bottom is a little flatter. This has the flow on effect of increasing the curve through the tail rocker area. The feel when surfing this style of rocker is a little more speed generally when in the normal turning stance giving a bit more length to turns when required but with the extra tail rocker the ability to jam tight turns in the pocket. So in theory the XFC TSR should be smoother through turns and the BX2 a little more dynamic. |

IP – Coming Soon
Inspired by Kelly Slater’s amazing surfing throughout this years leg of the WCT Australian Tour on a board similar in concept to the Interceptor. The KS board dimensions - 5’ 10 x 18 ½” wide swallow tail. The IP is basically an Interceptor but with a swallow tail and deeper single concave with a little vee out the swallow area. You surf this board 2” shorter than your regular performance thruster and ¼ - ½” wider with the same thickness or a 1/16” thicker. The swallow gives the board a little more bite and hold on the face so if you have similar ability to KS you can surf the IP up to 8 – 10 feet Bells Beach or if you are a mere mortal this model will surf in slightly bigger surf than you would expect the interceptor to. In other words 1 – 5 or 6’ beach breaks, a good option for the Sydney area, Sunshine Coast or Perth etc - on the way
